2011 BMW X3 Safety Features

The BMW X3 offers many safety features to keep you and your family safe such as: BMW’s xDrive all-wheel-drive system which feels like a rear-wheel-drive on dry smooth roads, but when a wet uphill curve is encountered, the xDrive system immediately recognizes any need for a change for power distribution and applies it before any wheelspin can occur. Cornering Brake Control (CBC) which regulates brake pressure independently of the ABS system to create stabilizing counter-torque. Hill Decent Control helps to stabilize the X3′s handling when tackling steep downhill slopes. It automatically applies the brakes and slows the engine, keeping your speed constant without wearing out your brakes. Full Complement of 8 airbags, front and rear. BMW’s head protection system helps cushion and protect the heads of occupants seated by the doors. Automatic Differential Brake is similar to the function of a differential lock, braking each wheel independently as needed. Dynamic Stability Controlprovides remarkable tenacity on slippery road surfaces. The system modulates engine power and can apply brakes individually to keep the vehicle under control if the system senses over- or under-steer. BMW’s door anchoring systemwhich includes reinforcing bars with hook-like members within each door. In  serious collision, the bars hook the door to the body creating a safety cell.
